Obligatory First Post

  • 8:15: unzip wordpress to my local machine. The “5 minute setup” begins.
  • 8:18: login to web server’s “easy database management” console to create a wordpress database. I assume it will be anything but.
  • 8:30: My findings are correct. But hey, the empty “wordpress1″ database is created.
  • 8:35: wordpress files are uploaded to server.
  • 8:36: I type in my email & blog title.
  • 9:25: the “congratulations” page still has not loaded.
  • 9:26: “wordpress1″ is removed from the DBMS, and recreated.
  • 9:27: I type in my email & blog title.
  • 9:28: the “congratulations” page is riddled with mySQL error messages.
  • 9:30: “wordpress1″ is removed from the DBMS, and recreated.
  • 9:31: I type in my email & blog title.
  • 9:33: the “congratulations” page is riddled with mySQL error messages.
  • 9:36: “wordpress1″ is removed from the DBMS, and I move on to “wordpress2″.
  • 9:38: I type in my email & blog title.
  • 9:40: My blog is actually created. The “5 minute setup” is complete.
